Remodeling Kitchen Cabinets - Ideas
Do you like this story?
Kitchen Cabinets are high-priced. If you are remodeling or just altering the idea of your kitchen, why don’t you just modify the look of your cabinets? It will set aside you a lot of money and time, and you will be amazed at the diversity it will make for your room.
If you have face frame cabinets, you can change your look quite easily like :
• Remove the doors and the hinges, putty the holes, and then paint or stain the whole cabinet, inside and out. With no doors on them, you have changed your cabinetry from face frame to frameless with little effort. The contents will be on display, which is fine for dishes and glassware, but not for canned goods, etc. You might want to do only a couple of the cabinets in this fashion.
• Remove the doors of kitchen cabinets and replace them with wood framed glass doors. This will also expose the contents, but keeps out dust and lint. It is a pricey alternative.
• Remove the doors and simply paint them. You can change the color of the entire cabinet, or use a contrasting color on the doors.
• Change the handles or knobs on the cabinet doors and drawers. You will be surprised at how much of a difference this can make without even painting or changing anything else.
• For natural wood finishes, you can retain them or simply change the topcoat finish from matte to semi gloss or high gloss.
If you presently have frameless cabinets, you can add doors and paint the whole cabinet for a new look. Double rodded fabric, pulled tight and pleated can easily be done, using a sheer material for a translucent look or a heavier fabric for a solid appearance.
